Make Thee an Ark
May 2026
Build yourself a good life.
Its width should hold the loud ones and the quiet,
the ones who arrive on time and the ones who never do.
Some will leave slowly, some will do it fast.
It can still sting every time.
Its length should be long enough to look back across.
To see the versions of you.
The one learning to float.
The other looking back at you,
with quiet determination.
Know that all of them made it here, on this same ark.
Its height will hold the big and the small.
Let it be free of fear and pride.
The ark will go through the high and low tides.
Mistakes and successes will feel large,
space to breathe will not.
Its material should be sturdy, so it doesn't fall apart.
But it should be lightweight, so the world keeps it afloat.
It's going to be alright.
